Promote sports culture in Gilgit Baltistan ( By Imran khan Hunzaii )

Hunza valley is the peaceful District of Gilgit Baltistan located near to Pak-China borders. In my opinion, this is the only place in Pakistan, where only females are provided all opportunities in all sphere of human life without having any sort of gender discrimination. Natives of hunza are famous for their hospitality, peaceful, love and honesty. According to crime rate index it has zero percent crime ratio. Citizens of this district are always welcoming in their nature for everyone. Thousands of tourists visited Hunza for this reason. Domestic tourists are treated cordially irrespective of their religion and colour. Moreover, there isn't any concept of extremism and terrorism in the region. The reason is that, the literacy rate of Hunza district is 99 percent. They are well educated, they don't blindly follow the ideas of violence and sectarianism. Girls are well empowered equally to boys. They are free to go schools and colleges. They are free to take their own decisions according to their interests. Girls from Hunza has been represented Pakistan at several international sports. Indeed, this is really proud moment for everyone us. I have been observing unfortunately, our religious leadership is discouraging sports by making this religious issue. Actually, they don't know the importance of sports diplomacy. How sports diplomacy works to bringing the societies together. Religious leadership should be limited to religious affairs rather interfering in the matters of sports. Sports is the only element, which can be use in the war situations to settle down the disputes. This is a basically tool to stability in the region. However, Gilgit Baltistan government is trying to provide such a opportunities but unfortunately, some of extremist groups made sports as tool for chaos and insecurity. I really appreciate such a positive activities for grooming of our youth. Imposing sanctions over girls is against of human rights as well as against of international human rights.
