Chipurson Road

Chipurson valley is stretched approx 100km from KKH Sost, the only strategic road which connects Pakistan to Wakan Corridor.

PMLN Government tenure is almost over, we are done with Mir, his beloved wife and son in the same fashion we were done the PPP tenure. CM Hafiz ur Rehman never bothered to visit this remote valley.

PMLN won from Chipruson in last election and by-election and were suppose to realign the road project with approximate time-frame of six months, it has been more than five years the realignment is incomplete, physical work on-site is stopped. The realignment project will save almost 25min drive.

Most of the bridges in Chipurson are constructed by community-based funding Baba Ghudi Trust. Whenever the road is blocked, the community volunteer to clear it. It is the negligence of the local administration and BnR department, we launched a campaign last year on Citizen Portal which was ignored by the department BnR Hunza.

Most of the laborers charged on this route are non-locals and the department has no checks on their works.

Now is the time for the PTI party to cash this road and make it part of their election campaign and grab votes.

Instead of constructing bridges, we need to hire lawyers to file cases against the corrupt contractors and department, instead of clearing the road we need to mobilize people to protest for their rights.
NAB Gilgit is requested to investigate the road status in government files and road status on the ground.
